Day Run through the Clem7 Tunnel. The Sprite Car Club have invited us to a day run through the Clem7 Tunnel before there is a toll on it. The plan is to meet at the Fishmonger's Wife Fish & Chip Cafe at Shop 6, 83-93 Lytton Rd East Brisbane. We will meet on the rooftop parking area at about 4:30pm. If its raining then we can meet under cover on the ground floor. There is parking on site via either Nothcote or Heidelberg Sts. Entry to Heidelberg St is at the lights and is not permitted if you are driving out of the city, so look out for Northcote St. Turning right into Heideelberg St on a Sunday should be OK. The intention is to leave the cafe at about 5pm, do the run backwards and forwards through the tunnel and return back to the cafe about 6pm for a meal. If you want to have a meal at the end of the run, then it is important to book yourself for the restaurant at 6pm. Phone 3891 6464 and add your name to the booking under The Mini Car Club. Movie Night at Kay's. It Movie night again,we have found that this is a great social night where everyone gets to come along and a watch a couple of movies on the big screen. There is no cost for admission and there will be a Bar-B-Q and club drinks available on the night to help raise funds for the club, so its a cheap night out for the family. Start arriving at 5:30pm with the 1st movie starting at about 6pm. We should have enough chairs but bring one along just in case. We can't give Kay's address out on the web so please contact a Committee member for details. |

Mini Coffee Run Organised by Jacob Guinea. This will be a short run to get the Mini's out and seen as a group in the morning. Should be able to turn a few heads and dodge a few Sunday drivers. Start 9am at Sunvale Plaza Carpark (Hervey Range Rd, opposite Willows Shopping Centre, same as the Heritage Tea rooms run). We will drive along Thuringowa Drive, onto Dalrymple Rd, onto Woolcock St, then turn onto Hugh St and head to the Strand. Do a couple of laps of the Strand, then we will head to the MacDonald's Lakes and stop for a coffee and/or grease fix. End: 10-10:30am at MacDonald's Lakes (Drive should be no more than 30 mins, stay at Macca's for long as you wish. |

NQ Wheels. is on again as part of the Northern Beaches Festival. NQ Wheels is a show with a difference. If it has wheels you can register it. Stationary engines, lawn mowers, push bikes and tractors. Vintage cars and bikes, Classic cars and bikes and dream machines. Wheel widows are entertained with live music, Market stalls, food, drinks, Junior Beach fishing and open fishing competition at Fisherman's Landing. Licensed bar at the landing. Steve, the inventor of the infinitely variable transmission as shown on the ABC show Inventors. The meeting place is Rossiter Park Aitkenvale (Kimball St) at 9:30am on Sunday 15 August for a chat before a departure around 10:10am, for Saunders Beach. All British Car Day at Tennyson. by the All British Classic Car Club (QLD). Sponsored by RACQ. Enjoy the carnival environment of this 31th anniversary event at the St Joseph's College Sports Ground, Tennyson, Brisbane (near the new tennis centre) from 8:30am-2pm. Click on the RACQ for more details. We will be putting on a display for the club so come along and show your car and support your club.On Sunday morning we will Meet at the car park opposite the corner of Gladstone St & Coin St Rocklea at 7am and drive in convoy to the event. If you can't make it at 7am but still want to show your car then let us know and we will reserve a place for you. |
